For Torcon III, we have combined these two popular events into an opening night "not be missed" special! Join in the fun as we kick-off Toronto's third Worldcon. Meet and mingle with our Guests of Honour, other Torcon participants and volunteers, and of course, all your friends from around the globe and beyond. And make sure you stay after the event for a late-night concert by our own 'recovered folksinger' Spider Robinson who--with a little help from Jeanne Robinson-will sing pazz, jop, bolk, flues, and some original material, with solo guitar accompaniment.

8:30 p.m. Show Us Your Dream Costume Party and Dance 
Royal York Concert Hall. 

Don your costumes and your bring your dancing shoes -- he music you'll hear is Retro-80's and sci-fi song/theme remixes - hosts Keith and Gary Arseneau's specialty - with lots of Canadian Content. We're fen, and we put on a dance for our fellow fen - the kind of dance you'd only get at a convention. Warm up for the dance with Jungle Cats on the prowl. Slinky, playful, majestic and mischievous, Ravenar dance troupe celebrates the many aspects of the cat. Ravenar fuses belly dance with a variety of music, including pop and movie themes. John Hertz, fandom's inimitable expert on the Regency era, will once again host the Regency Ball. Everyone is invited to join John as he shows you how to dance Regency-style! This is a participatory event - so feel free to join in, two left feet and all!
